Your Guide for Rappelling:
- Make sure you test the rappel anchors as it is the matter of your life. The anchors should securely be attached to you with a daisy chain or sling while you climb down.
- Single rope rappel should be prepared. The rope shouldn’t come in contact with any sharp edges and should be long enough to touch the ground.
- You should be aware of how to use your rappel device. Check for the manufacturer’s instruction.
- Test both the device and the rope properly.
- Wear gloves to protect your hands.
Tips:
- You should be aware of how to us the rappel as learning while you are actually rappelling wouldn’t be wise.
- Use prusik, which is a large perlon rope used for tying self-locking knot.
- Make sure the rope is large enough so that you can easily reach the ground. If you have the slightest doubt, consider attaching another rope to it.
- If you are not too confident about your potential for rappelling, better prefer walking down the entire distance.
